Rebel Unicorn: The Birth Of A Legendary Brand

A Rebel Unicorn is a trailblazer.

An artist, creator, entrepreneur - moved by passion, guided by intuition. One who owns their uniqueness and by living as the fullest expression of themselves, shares their gifts with the world.

Days ago, I was having a conversation with a loved one who is adamant in his beliefs about the entertainment industry. While I understood where he was coming from, I couldn’t disagree with his stance more. It had to do with people creating successful careers in the music business. He was firm on there only being one certain path to fortune and fame. I persistently disagreed as I fully believe there is always another way. 

People are proving this time and time again. Not only in entertainment, in all walks of life. Athletic records are continually broken, those diagnosed with disabling disease are healed, stay at home moms are becoming millionaires through soul led businesses. 

We are capable of incredible successes. We get to create beyond the realms of status quo. There is always one to go first and show us something else is indeed possible.

I am a believer in infinite possibility. Some find me to be fanciful. I own that. Magical thinking creates the lives of our dreams.

Looking back to the beginning of 2022, I made an abrupt pivot in the way I was building my business. I had been working with a business coach for several months and while her practices had helped many achieve fantastic financial goals, I found myself feeling painfully unaligned. I turned inward and allowed intuition to take the driver's seat.

Journal entry from 1-31-22

“I remembered who I am! I am a wildly fierce creative unicorn who is not to be tamed or put in a box! I am me and here to sparkle loudly and by doing just that, I am leading others to their highest potential!”

At this point, all of my business offerings, from coaching to art to Airbnb mentorship had been under my name. As I was digging deep, visioning, imagining, and weaving together the qualities, values and beliefs of my brand, I realized this was much larger and powerful than I once knew. The name Rebel Unicorn came through on 2-13-22. I asked the Universe to show me a sign that this was indeed the name for my brand, my legacy. Two days later, on my afternoon walk I happened upon a piece of chalk art in my path that sealed the deal.

I’ve come to the awareness that this brand is the culmination of my life thus far. It’s helping me to understand that every single step I have taken - every triumph, every challenge, every mistake, everything I have experienced has brought me to the here and now.

Rebel Unicorn is a global “permission slip” for creatives to step into our power, to trust our inner wisdom, to believe in ourselves and to realize the magic that is IN BEING authentically us.

I desire the creatives of our world to be empowered & supported. 

I want to see more of us living as the fullest expressions of ourselves. 

I know first hand what goes on behind the scenes during the creation process. 

I live the frustrations, hopes, fears, disappointments and the mini wins when something finally clicks. 

I am the creator who is balancing a life of being in full on mad scientist mode, feeling like a complete lunatic while also making time to be calm and present with loved ones, seeing them and helping them through challenges. 

I have been the artist who is trying to “conform” enough to work a “real” job to pay the bills while all they really want is to create their art.

Rebel Unicorn represents creatives in all stages of their journey.

In Spring of 2023, I felt called to create a design that would symbolize the brand. A special graphic that could be used on all sorts of products to bring awareness to the mission of Rebel Unicorn:

The design came to life and was launched on the 1st Official Rebel Unicorn Tshirt on 7-21-23.

To acknowledge and change your thoughts, feelings and beliefs.

The keyhole in the heart represents your ability to unlock your power. To live as the fullest expression of yourself.

The wings represent your ability to go wherever you want to in this life.

The butterflies are freedom, curiosity and presence in the now.

I believe this brand holds the power to change lives and to create a positive ripple in the world.
